Beautiful starry night scenes of big cities in the dark
Thierry Cohen is a French photographer who came up with an intriguing idea: what would big cities of the world look like with the sky full of stars and no artificial distractions other than buildings, roads and infra-structure - meaning no cars, lights or even people?
The result is a beautiful and a bit frightening series. Featured places include New York, Rio de Janeiro, Shanghai, Los Angeles and other great landmarks. You can see them large on this special by The New York Times and at Cohen's website.
